Account Manager - Europe

The roleWe are looking for an Account Manager who will join our team in Paris and manage a large portfolio of merchants, helping them onboard and succeed at scale with GoCardless. To succeed in this role, you will need to have previous experience in Account Management or CSM, ideally in technology, finance or SaaS. We’re looking for someone who relishes the challenge of understanding each merchant and their industry.
The Europe team is a group of people who come from all over the world to help grow our ever expanding region in a great environment. It’s not unusual to see us enjoying a meal or drinks together in our lovely office at the heart of Paris. What drives us is the desire to have an impact!
What excites you:- Take full commercial ownership of a large portfolio of our Emerging, Mid Market and Enterprise customers (100+ customers; $3 million on average)
- Identify, nurture and close upsell opportunities across the portfolio
- Mitigate risk including managing renewals
- Identify and expose valuable insights to the customer during Success reviews
- Learn how to use the GoCardless product in order to support customer onboarding, use case application/expansion and promote its value
- Partner with your Implementation Manager to assist and hold customer accountable for completing onboarding milestones
- Learn and use our systems and tools such as Zendesk and ChurnZero
- Seek to improve processes and the customer experience through feedback and data driven problem solving
- Coordinate with Customer Experience to identify and capture customer stories leading to referrals, testimonials and case studies
- You have a proven track record in managing and growing a portfolio of accounts
- You have a passion for helping customers
- You have an operational mindset and seek to constantly improve both effectiveness and efficiency
- You have strong listening and verbal communication skills: you will need to quickly understand customer needs or issues and deliver a clear and concise response via video calls, emails, in person meetings
- You have experience prioritising your time, especially between multiple important and urgent issues
- You love working cross-functionally and partnering with other teams on projects
- You are fluent in French and English. Additional languages are a plus (our clients speak Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, and other European languages).
