We are looking for a highly motivated Accountant - Accounts Payable (m/f/d). You will be playing an important role in our Core Accounting team, actively contributing the development of the Accounts Payable function and accompanying us on our continued growth path.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Performing accounts payable tasks in the preparation of month-end closings and annual financial statements according to HGB in compliance with deadlines
  • Processing and reconciliation of bank accounts and execution of payment runs
  • Processing of supplier invoices 
  • Reconciliation of open items and communication with suppliers
  • Processing of travel and other expenses in compliance with tax regulations
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and sub-ledger accounts
  • Supporting fixed asset accounting and payroll accounting
  • Having impact on various projects, driving process optimization and digitalization 
  • Preparing ad-hoc analyses on financials and reportings for quality assurance and generation of insights for management 
  • Contact person for internal stakeholders, tax consultants and auditors

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • You have a degree in business administration (ideally with a focus on accounting) or comparable commercial education 
  • You have minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in accounting (experience in scale-up or capital market oriented companies is a plus)
  • You have strong German GAAP (HGB) and VAT knowledge - additional IFRS knowledge is a plus
  • You have very good knowledge of ERP systems (Workday is a plus)
  • You use efficiently and professionally Excel / Google Sheets
  • You are fluent in German and English
