About the Operational Finance Team

The Operational Finance Team is responsible for a variety of tasks that are instrumental in keeping the business running on a day-to-day basis. There are four teams within the Operational Finance Function each serves a specific purpose to the company: Accounting and Accounts Payable - Accurately records all vendor-related transactions and keeps our vendors paid, Billing Team - provisions all customers access to Mixpanel and ensure proper revenue recognition, Collection Team - records all customer payments and ensures we get paid on time, Payroll - prepares payrolls for all employees worldwide and the Deal Desk Team - reviews all quotes submitted and ensure deals are accurately processed in line with our policies. The teams are primarily split between the Bay Area (California) and Barcelona, with 1 team member in both APAC and the UK.

About the Role

As an Accountant you'll be assisting the accounting team in creating accurate and timely financial statements and records for the Company.  An effective staff account must have a high attention to detail, organization skills and strong time management.  They must be able to independently manage deadlines and recurring tasks along with having strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and recording journal entries for various expense and balance sheet accounts such as monthly accruals, reclass entries and depreciation.
  • Maintaining and reconciling several balance sheet accounts such as liability and/or fixed asset accounts.
  • Reviewing and approving items such as invoices, purchase orders or expense reports for proper coding, support and compliance
  • Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities for assigned areas
  • Analyzing and reporting on financial trends month over month for assigned financial statement line items, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed, including supporting in annual audit requests
  • Streamline workbooks and processes as applicable

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Moderate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite or equivilant
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated the highest level of integrity in all situations
  • Strong analytical skills and is a self-starter

  • Navan or Corpay experience

Compensation

The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. In addition to the cash compensation provided, this position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage. You can view our benefits offerings here.Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked to the SF Bay Area Technology data cut released by Radford, a global compensation database. The range displayed represents the minimum and maximum TTCC for new hire salaries for the position across all of our US locations. To stay on top of market conditions, we refresh our salary ranges twice a year so these ranges may change in the future. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and other factors. If you have questions about the specific range, your recruiter can share this information.
