Yext is seeking an Accountant with a positive attitude and highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization! This is a hands-on position with a mix of accounting and operational duties. This role will be responsible for assisting in the day to day transaction processing and accounting, preparing account reconciliations in connection with the close process, and performing financial analysis on an as-needed basis. This role will be responsible for supporting the monthly close processes and initiating process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and can succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The candidate will be encouraged to go beyond the traditional accounting responsibilities of close and work on various projects leveraging data and analytical skills to drive better company performance.

What You'll Do
  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist in reconciliations between subledger and G/L.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow and compile the internal reporting package.
  • Participate in General Ledger Transaction, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and settlement of balances.
  • Support and assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes
  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP principles
  • Participate in streamlining and process improvement projects to increase efficiencies and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
  • Design and implement internal controls
  • Work with independent auditors to provide support for audited financial statements
  • Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from various internal systems and the general ledger
  • Assist in external financial reporting processes
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to the team when requested
What You Have
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years experience in accounting
  • Working understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations and internal controls
  • Ability to compile balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows
  • Ability to manipulate and handle large amounts of data
  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly and precisely on technical and operational issues
  • Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines
  • Excellent written and formal presentation skills
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Bonus Points
  • Big 4 public accounting or public/private company corporate accounting experience; Tech industry experience a plus
  • CPA or working towards completing a CPA
  • Prior experience compiling and preparing financial statements and analysis
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Netsuite, Coupa, Blackline, Gappify, Workday

The base salary at the time of hire for this position is expected to be between $56,700-$104,000. Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits, and successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.
