THE JOURNEY

  • Be responsible for the Accounting of the Portuguese legal entities of Glovo.
  • Liaise with other departments and streams during Month-End Closing activities as well as coordinate with the local Finance team of the market.
  • Control of the intercompany figures and ensure they are properly reflected and reconciled at month, quarter and year end closing.
  • Perform allocations and record accruals and prepayments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Glovo financial records.
  • Monitor and improve over the General Accounting function for the Portuguese legal entities, having continuous communication with the rest of HQ Finance teams.
  • Be responsible for the monthly reporting to Delivery Hero within the group-established reporting tool, including monthly Trial Balance and also other Key Performance Indicators. 
  • Be the Point of Contact for queries related to MEC  closing.
  • Review local financial statements (income statement and balance sheet) for the Portuguese legal entities, ensuring that the global criteria established by the group is used.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP accounting rules.
  • Coordinate external audit process, giving support to the local Finance team, having direct communication with external auditors.
  • Operate within a robust and internal control environment making sure the financial statements of the Italian legal entities are fully compliant.
  • Participation in financial projects that can improve the department's accounting practices.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience in general ledger functions and month-end and year-end closing
  • Familiar with intercompany processes and reconciliations.
  • Excellent Microsoft and Google tools skills (Excel and Google Sheet)
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
  • Good vibes and team player
  • Problem solving oriented and hands-on
