We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented individual contributor Accounts Payable (AP) Program Manager to lead the strategic evolution of our AP function. This role will be responsible for identifying and driving process improvements, overseeing the implementation of new technologies and tools, and maintaining strong governance through AP policy and compliance management. This is a cross-functional role requiring strong collaboration with Procurement, IT, Accounting, Security and key business stakeholders.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

Process Optimization and Policy Governance (40%)
  • Analyze end-to-end AP workflows to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for automation.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline invoice processing, payments, vendor onboarding, and exception handling.
  • Partner with internal audit and compliance teams to mitigate control gaps and ensure SOX or other regulatory compliance where applicable.
  • Own the global AP policy framework; create, revise, and communicate policies aligned with financial controls and business needs.
  • Monitor compliance and adherence to AP policies and escalate exceptions or violations as needed
  • Develop training and documentation to support policy awareness and adoption across departments.
Stakeholder/Vendor Management and Vendor Risk Assessment/Compliance  (35%)
  • Serve as a central point of contact for AP process or policy escalations.Partner with Procurement and Legal to ensure vendor onboarding processes are compliant and efficient.Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to align AP practices with broader finance and sourcing strategies.
  • Execute monthly KPI reporting for AP; track performance of the team and address performance issues. 
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, InfoSec, and Compliance to ensure vendor risk assessments are conducted for new and existing AP vendors.
  • Integrate risk controls into the vendor onboarding process, including financial viability, sanctions screening, and SOC 2/ISO compliance reviews where applicable.
  • Support the development of a centralized vendor risk management framework and ensure documentation and mitigation steps are maintained and auditable.
  • Ensure third-party vendors meet AP-related risk standards (e.g., payment processing, data security, fraud prevention).
Technology & Systems (25%)
  • Drive the roadmap and implementation of AP technology solutions. Act as business lead or SME for system upgrades, integrations, or transitions 
  • Coordinate with IT and external vendors to ensure seamless deployment and adoption of new tools.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working in AP
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or relevant certification
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and ERP software such as SAP, Workday, NetSuite, Oracle, etc. 
  • Deep understanding of AP processes, controls, and best practices, including 3-way match, payment terms, T&E reimbursements, and supplier risk.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions, if eligible), benefits, and equity (if eligible).

Pay Range$102,000—$163,000 USD
