Accounts Payable Senior Manager

Position Overview:The Accounts Payable Senior Manager is a member of the corporate accounting team and is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable/treasury function for StepStone’s investment funds.
Eessential Job Functions:
The position requires a hands-on, proactive, and highly detail-oriented individual who will work closely with StepStone’s corporate accounting, fund accounting, legal team, and external vendors both domestic and international. Further, this position requires excellent Excel skills and being able to review large amounts of data while meeting strict deadlines.
Specific activities include:
- Manage Accounts Payable Accountants
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities, including but not limited to:
- Manage the Fund AP inbox
- Review vendor invoices
- Review vendor bill upload templates with fund level allocations
- Review and approve new vendor set-up requests
- Review and approve new fund name set-up requests
- Review allocation of costs by fund in the Due From Funds (“DFF”) process
- Perform treasury function, including but not limited to:
- Ensure completion of verbal confirmation for new vendor bank accounts
- Review and approve Wire/ACH templates and transactions set up in online banking system
- Ensure distribution of remittance advice
- Review bank reconciliations
- Ensure that vendor payments are processed in a timely manner
- Review reimbursement received from Funds
- Ensure the accuracy for application of fund reimbursements
- Provide bi-weekly cash projection to the Corporate Accounts Payable team
- Perform month-end close activities, including but not limited to:
- Review assigned balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by Accounts Payable Accountants
- Review fund reimbursement invoices produced by AP Accountants and provide to the Fund Accounting team
- Review DFF’s reconciliation prepared by the AP Accountant and distribute the reconciliation to the Fund Accounting team
- Resolve any DFF discrepancies
- Provide requested information to the Fund Accounting team, as needed
- Perform other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate
- Provide 1099 data to Corporate AP
- Identify opportunities and drive technology-related initiatives to automate and optimize the Fund AP process
- Assist with audit requests, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Acute attention to accuracy and detail
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables
- Strong people leader with experience leading a team or supervisory role required
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
- Extensive knowledge about accounts payable procedures and strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office programs
- NetSuite (or similar ERP) experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage priorities against key deadlines
Salary: $100,000 - $115,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
