Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring an Associate Director of Category Management for our Pet Technology business. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and will focus on accelerating growth in the Pet Tech space. While this isn’t a new business for Chewy, there is significant potential for growth. To drive growth, this person will expand selection with new and existing vendors, drive new product launches on site, develop Chewy’s offering to better support pet tech customers and work across categories to create relevant merchandising strategies. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication, strong negotiations and vendor manager experience, the ability to analyze and communicate complex terms, margin structure and work well across other teams including Finance, Inventory Management, and Site Experience. Keys to success also include strong ownership values, a passion for innovation, and hustle. The location can be based out of Fort Lauderdale, Seattle, or Boston.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a high growth business across a diverse group of brands
- Help launch new vendors and products with urgency
- Ensure both Category and supporting teams are ready to drive significant growth in this business; develop and execute strategies across marketing, product and supply chain to support this growth while managing inventory/financial risk for Chewy.
- Own the Pet Tech P&L and drive toward sales and profit targets on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
- Negotiate deal structures across vendor partners with a focus on long term growth and scale
- Interject new insights and ideas for improving customer experience and improving financials while holding true to Chewy fundamentals
What You'll Need:
- Minimum of 8+ years in category management, account management, product management, financial analysis and/or marketing in a retail/ecomm organization (ecomm preferred)
- Minimum of 8+ years negotiation experience
- Manager experience of a small team
- Strong in Excel; SQL a bonus.
- BA/BS (MBA preferred)
- Position may require travel
- An accomplished range of skill from high-level strategic thinking to working with external partners.
- Demonstrated excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across Chewy’s cross-matrix organization is critical to success in this role.
