Our Opportunity: At Chewy we are building a Retail Operations team to support our pet partners to conduct business in a seamless fashion and are looking for an Associate Director Product Manager to help us achieve scale. The Retail Operations organization is dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience for pet parents and vendor partners, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving revenue growth for Chewy. The Retail Operations organization exists to oversee and enhance the day-to-day operations of our Retail business.

As a member of the Retail Operations team, you’ll be part of the core leadership team and will drive our product strategy to enable scale. This role will be responsible for driving efficiency, defect reductions, and improving overall satisfaction across our pet parents and internal customer stakeholders. As a key member of our Product Management team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and execution of our diversified efforts and automation initiatives. This role leverages a deep understanding of continuous improvement to shape innovative products that elevate our scaling capabilities.

What You'll Do:

Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for standardized operations, aligning with overall business objectives. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Merchandising, Operations, and Customer Service, to ensure successful product development and launch. Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication to achieve collective goals.

Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization. Conduct thorough market research and user feedback analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancement. Drive the development and optimization of our program, focusing on improving time to resolve, customer satisfaction, and reducing defects. Work closely with engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and implement automation opportunities.

Performance Analysis: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for workflows, regularly analyze performance data to measure success, and identify areas for improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies accordingly.

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders involved in operational initiatives. Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries and ensuring alignment with product goals.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience in diversified team management (domestic/international) and Shared Services is preferred
  • 8 years minimum in a product management role
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Sustained track record of driving business value and improving product with data insights
  • The ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
  • The ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to continuous improvements and defect reductions
  • Aptitude to analyze, communicate and present metrics effectively to support recommendations
  • Ability to think creatively, execute on a roadmap, build consensus and momentum

Compensation & Benefits: 

Our salary range for a Associate Director Product Manager  position is $156,000.00 - $255,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
