Chewy is seeking an Associate Director, Project Management Office (PMO) to support our Fulfillment, Pharmacy, and Corporate teams. This is an individual contributor (IC) role, responsible for leading and advancing the PMO processes within our Asset Risk Operations (ARO) team. In this role, you will partner closely with key collaborators to develop and coordinate a comprehensive PMO framework—from intake through implementation. You will drive project lifecycle management, host regular partner meetings, produce reporting and insights, and ensure compliance with all internal processes. This includes guiding project owners through due diligence, leading CAR, and providing oversight on high-level payment structures and work schedules. The ideal candidate will have a consistent track record leading sophisticated, high-impact projects within a PMO environment, preferably in e-commerce or operations-focused industries. This role requires the ability to operate autonomously, build strong cross-functional and third-party relationships, and proactively handle contracts and deliverable metrics.
What you'll do:
- Develop and lead the PMO process for the ARO team.
- Lead multiple projects and programs, that are either inflight or will be by end of 2025, and own high-level communication and marketing of these.
- Develop programs, apply technology, and guide leadership through the PMO process from intake to implementation.
- Lead a high level view of spending/budget schedules for projects in the PMO process. Ensuring the work and cost are on schedule and drive improvement for any approved projects to take flight.
- Maintain an intake process, projects dashboard/tracker, and generate weekly/monthly reports.
- Partner with collaborators to ensure project has been reviewed and any required documents or approvals are acquired.
- Partner with Procurement to performance manage several network contracts for vendors.
- Develop and deliver on business objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and team goals to drive safety and security performance across Chewy Fulfillment Core & Corporate teams.
- Develop data driven initiatives supporting Chewy’s short and long-term strategies.
- Report into the AD of Corporate EHS and Asset coordinating with HR, Finance, and Operations to implement Chewy’s strategies focused on company vision, people, process, and technology.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business Management/Operations or similar degree) or equivalent work experience.
- MBA or Master’s degree in a related field required.
- 8 + years of experience in direct PMO or project management at network scale.
- Validated history of leading network-wide or global programs/projects, being able to take an idea all the way to implementation.
- High level strong communication skills, with experience crafting marketing campaigns.
- PMP and Six Sigma are preferred certifications.
- Experience in emergency disaster operations, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and/or Healthcare.
- Experience applying current and future technology integrating EHS and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for improved incident management response.
- Experience leading dispersed EHS teams across multiple levels of roles in a sophisticated, fast paced, industrial organization. Including environmental, health/employee care, safety, food safety, and proactive wellness responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, being able to communication across internal partners and with executive leadership.
- Highly coordinated teammate who can build strong relationships with internal and external customers including third-party vendors.
- Capable of delivering high quality work and data driven initiatives on time with the ability to manage multiple different projects or programs simultaneously.
- Ability to be flexible, work through ambiguity, succeed in a fast-paced environment while having the foresight to build mechanisms and develop strategies. Willing to learn new skills and implement new technologies across Chewy.
- Experience with Gensuite, Avetta, Smartsheets, Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and other workspace software.
- Must be willing to travel up to 40%.
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations. Base Salary Range$155,500—$249,000 USD
