The Marketing Engineering (MRKENG) team builds awareness by sharing how Cloudflare can make a positive impact for customers and prospects. This spans across all channels of client communication: our website, blog, emails, social media, events, ads, etc. We build the technology that allows internal customers to craft beautiful experiences and tell compelling stories about Cloudflare.

What you'll do

This role entails a scope of developer work focused on the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), particularly Adobe Target, Adobe Customer  Data Platform (CDP), and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).  The selected candidate will work amongst a global engineering team, broader Marketing organization, and cross-team contributions to a personalized user journey.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • Design and implement robust architectures for AEP, integrating martech tools and data to support personalized marketing strategies, customer journey analytics, and real-time offer management
  • Lead the technical aspects of Adobe solution implementations, including data modeling, data ingestion, and activation processes across channels within AEP and Adobe RT-CDP.
  • Collaborate with marketing, analytics, and IT teams to ensure Adobe solutions meet business requirements and are aligned with company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of AEP, AJO, CJA, and ODE capabilities, staying updated with new features and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the AEP ecosystem
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance standards are met within the Adobe ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Adobe platform
  • Understanding of online marketing components, such as advanced targeting and personalization
  • Strong proficiency with analytical tools, including Google Analytics
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
  • Suitable level of understand compliance requirements for GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and CTDPA
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms like Contentful
  • In-depth knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks, development patterns, and single page applications
  • 5+ years experience in data architecture, integration, API management, and cross-platform activation
  • 5+ years experience and a strong understanding of marketing technologies, digital analytics, customer data platforms, tag management, and cross-channel marketing strategies
  • Proven experience as an AEP Architect or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful Adobe implementations
  • Demonstrated experience with headless architecture and headless CMSs like Contentful

  • Current peers and stakeholders consider you a subject matter expert in the Adobe playground
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) or Adobe Analytics, and Offer Decisioning Engine (ODE)
  • Ideally, certifications in one or any of Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Customer Journey Analytics, and/or Offer Decisioning Engine are highly desirable
  • Active member of the Adobe Experience League communities
  • Passion for building and optimizing a personalized user experience, from freelance developer to CxO
  • Working knowledge of Cloudflare tools, including Zaraz, Dash, and Workers
