Seeing Machines is engaged on a multitude of programs at the forefront of innovation, being delivered by highly skilled engineers and scientists. These programs require world-class Engineers to support the successful design, development, and integration of Seeing Machines DMS technology for customers across the world.

As part of the Test Engineering Department the Algorithm Validation Engineer is responsible for analyzing data and developing the Seeing Machines performance reporting toolkit. Using this toolkit, you will validate the performance of the driver monitoring algorithms to meet requirements for release to internal and external customers. You will also manage and curate a large set of test data for performance tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of algorithm performance specifications and methods to validate algorithm performance
  • Design, development and deployment of automated tools for performance analysis and reporting
  • Python scripting to support data wrangling and performance validation
  • Development and execution of performance test plans
  • Hands-on quantitative data analysis of algorithm performance KPIs
  • Managing the lifecycle of large and complex datasets
  • Continuous innovation and development of the Performance Validation Roadmap
  • Providing technical expertise on performance validation and data management topics within the engineering team

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in software engineering, systems engineering, computer science, data science or a similar quantitative discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong Team player.
  • Strong problem solving, data analysis and analytical skills.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to hold effective technical discussions.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

      Mandatory:

  • Experience in developing Python scripts to process data.
  • Demonstrable experience in algorithm or product testing, preferably in the Computer Vision domain.
  • Strong experience in quantitative methods of data analysis, data wrangling and data intuition skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, and experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite tools.

      Desirable:

  • Experience in automotive software development for embedded software devices, C++
  • Hands-on proficiency with full data analysis stack (e.g. Python numerical analysis and visualization stack, R)
  • Cloud based frameworks and services (AWS)
  • Data standards, Data Privacy and Protection Regimes
  • Commercial experience in Automotive, Transport, Aviation or Medical industry.
