Analyst, Business Planning & Analytics

Wayfair Professional’s North American Business to Business (“B2B”) and Consumer Sales team is seeking a collaborative, solutions-oriented Analyst to join the Global Planning & Analytics team. While our site and app experience allow for seamless self-service, our higher-value customers benefit from sales support. Sales teams establish relationships with purchasing decision-makers, educate customers about Wayfair’s assortment, services, and capabilities, and proactively reach out to intercept emerging needs to help them complete their orders and projects. The Global Planning & Analytics team is responsible for analyzing customer behavior and operational performance to provide visibility, testing, and optimization of business initiatives. The team is highly cross-functional and works closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, Sales Teams, Marketing, and Storefront to grow the B2B and Consumer Sales channels.
We seek a motivated analyst who will partner with business stakeholders and leadership to support our weekly/monthly business reviews and sales program analysis. This will include a close focus on B2B Marketing to evaluate the success of channels/campaigns, customer segmentation, and strategy optimization. The role requires a blend of analytical ability and strong communication skills as the individual will be expected to drive their own workflow and share learnings/takeaways with leadership. The role will report to the Business Planning Lead.
What You’ll Do:
- Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems with deep customer focus, applying advanced analytical methods and recommending innovative approaches as needed
- Support weekly/monthly performance reviews by analyzing past performance with leadership and recommend go forward initiatives to drive long term profitability and alignment with OKRs
- Support marketing analytics, channel ROI measurement, customer segmentation, and strategy optimization
- Build a strong understanding of marketing Operations and KPIs that affect overall business performance; help the business understand how key drivers affect the business and how they should be prioritizing efforts across these KPIs
- Work with several large and complex databases using SQL (Google BigQuery) to synthesize insights used for decision-making; partner with Data Engineering to refine and build new data assets as needed
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business or Finance)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, SQL or GBQ, and data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio (Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI)
- Experience in Python or R preferred but not required
- Strong analytical background and experience in extracting insights, operating with large data sets to identify trends/takeaways, and communicating recommendations to stakeholders
- Experience in marketing analytics (ROI measurement, customer segmentation, etc) preferred but not required
- Excellent problem solving skills including the ability to break down complex, ambiguous problems into logical objectives and execute on next steps
- Team-first attitude with enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset; you must be adaptable and comfortable with change
