This position is a hybrid in-office role that works out of our Headquarters in Boston, MA. (Monday-Thursday in-office, Friday remote)

We are seeking a highly motivated research analyst to join our Consumer Insights team. This team is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and distributing qualitative and quantitative perceptual data from customers and prospects to help business leaders make customer-first decisions across the organization. This job involves analyzing consumer survey data to shape brand and commercial strategies, connecting business knowledge with consumer research to provide effective solutions for business problems, and helping leaders make consumer-first decisions.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing always-on quantitative surveys (e.g., brand health tracking) with our research partners, executing consumer research end-to-end, translating observations from quantitative surveys into actionable insights, and operational management of key insights partners. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to move fast, work smart, steer the business through consumer insights, and collaborate with a talented, diverse, multicultural, and international team.

What You’ll Do

  • Become the subject matter expert for always-on quantitative surveys by managing vendor partnerships, reporting insights, staying informed about competitive trends, and dot-connecting insights, to ensure accurate interpretation of key metrics for brand strategy
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the organization to ensure we know our audience, that we’re educated on the needs we’re addressing and that we’re communicating with messages and offers that resonate
  • Assist in the execution of quantitative research to support the business and the Wayfair customer 
  • Build agile, creative methodologies for quantitative research to meet the needs of a fast growing, multi-faceted organization 
  • Frame, structure, and synthesize complex data from multiple sources and information visually in order to craft the story and drive action alongside team members
  • Assist in tracking research spends, contracts, and computing ROI for research projects, while ensuring team projects are delivered against the timeline 
  • Assist in managing relationships with our research agencies and stakeholders who requires support in tooling

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, Management, Social Sciences or other quantitative discipline field with strong academic record, required. 
  • Hands-on experience conducting quantitative analyses on large data sets or translating qualitative data into quantitative insights
  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.) and Data Visualization Tools (Looker, Looker Studio, etc.), required
  • Experience with Survey Engines/Tools (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.) and analyses involving survey data sets, a plus 
  • Familiarity with SQL (TSQL, Google Big Query and Vertica incl. aggregate functions, joins, etc.) or other structured programming languages (Python, R), a plus
  • High degree of attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Solution-oriented, collaborative & curious mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong intrinsic problem solving skills, ability to structure and solve problems and conduct and interpret analysis independently
  • Team player with a highly collaborative attitude
