Job Description:

We’re hiring a Business Analyst to join our Demand Forecasting team within our broader Meal Kit Operations organization. The Demand Forecasting team is crucial to driving efficiency within the HelloFresh supply chain. This role will own, execute, and improve forecasting tools and systems. In order to continuously improve and evolve, we work cross-functionally across all of the business from marketing to purchasing and leverage a modern tech stack to automate and improve our tools.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have a strong sense of ownership, analytical & organizational abilities, and a keen interest in how good data, processes, and tools can drive better decision-making. This is an opportunity to make a big impact on a fast-growing organization, the food supply chain, and how people eat.

You will:

  • Take ownership of several operationally critical forecasting tools and processes, managing and executing at the rhythm required by the business
  • Be the primary subject-matter-expert for all inputs, outputs, structures, and process flows that impact or are impacted by your responsibilities
  • Take the lead in responding to questions, issues, and analysis requests related to your areas of expertise, from both within the Forecasting team and from other teams
  • Seek out and evaluate opportunities to improve business outcomes, efficiency, strategy, and decision-making (e.g. integration of new data sources)
  • Support new product launches and internal capability enhancements, while still ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and scalability
  • Interact cross functionally with Supply Chain teams to ensure that business processes are executed as designed and are achieving desired outcomes
  • Continuously improve tools, analysis, and presentation techniques while adapting to an expanding business, and an evolving landscape of Supply Chain technology, so we can work smarter, not harder

You are:

  • A natural owner - You are super reliable and thoughtful in managing your responsibilities, you care about the outcome and quality of your work, and you earn the trust of your colleagues
  • A data-driven critical thinker and problem solver - You use data and logic to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, evaluate alternatives, and synthesize and present critical information to solve complex problems
  • Intellectually curious - You have an insatiable desire to understand why things are the way they are, how things work, and to challenge the status quo; you search for information and answers in an evolving landscape
  • Detail oriented - you complete each task as flawlessly as possible before moving to the next task
  • Agile and organized - You thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments; you can multitask and prioritize your responsibilities; you demonstrate a methodical approach to all your work
  • A self-starter - You are comfortable working autonomously and are obsessive about producing high quality work; you’re eager to take on new projects without knowing exactly what you will uncover
  • An excellent communicator - You can explain complex (often technical) information to a variety of audiences
  • A team player - You favor team victories over individual success

You have:

  • 1+ years of relevant work experience in an analytical capacity, including responsibility for:
    • Executing or owning tools or processes required by the business to facilitate operational activities
    • Preparing and delivering reports and/or dashboards, for various audiences
  • Undergraduate degree in fields such as Business Analytics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Accounting, or other relevant area of study
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills - able to gather, organize, analyze, visualize, and present data to enable decision-making
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with preference for ability to automate within spreadsheets
  • Experience with SQL in a professional or academic environment, to quickly enable the continued ownership and refinement of existing queries and scripts, and the development of new ones
  • Basic knowledge of a high-level programming language (e.g. Python, R, etc.) and of data visualization software (e.g. Tableau) is preferred, with significant interest in further developing these skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities - able to convey the most important information to stakeholders, and to be effective in both technical and non-technical (business) situations

You’ll get:

  • Competitive Salary & 401k company match, which vests immediately upon participation
  • Generous parental leave (16 weeks) & PTO policies
  • $0 monthly premium and other flexible health plans
  • 75% discount on your subscription to HelloFresh (as well as other product initiatives)
  • In the NYC office, snacks, & cold brew on tap
  • Opportunities to continue learning and growing your technical and business skills
  • Company-sponsored outings & access to Employee Resource Groups
  • Collaborative, dynamic work environment within a fast-paced, mission-driven company
