We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our autonomous trucking program. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between our product, engineering, and customer teams, ensuring our L4 trucking solutions are successfully deployed, integrated, and optimized for real-world operations. You will work closely with OEM partners and internal development teams to configure, validate, and troubleshoot our autonomous driving stack in the targeted Operation Designed Domain. This is a hands-on role where technical expertise, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills come together to accelerate the adoption of autonomous trucking

At Applied Intuition, you will:
  • Collaborate with OEM(s) to integrate and deploy autonomous driving software into trucking platform(s)
  • Collect and analyze customer requirements, translate them into precise technical specifications, and work closely with cross-functional development teams to ensure system design and features align with defined customer use cases
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive resolution for technical issues during development and customer adoption
  • Train customer engineering teams on system usage, troubleshooting, and development workflows.
  • Document configuration guides, troubleshooting manuals, and integration best practices
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in applications engineering, systems integration, or field engineering for autonomous vehicles, robotics, or automotive systems.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle CAN/Ethernet communication, sensors (LiDAR, radar, camera), and drive-by-wire systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Python, with basic C++ debugging skills for autonomous driving software
  • Experience working with autonomous driving software (perception, localization, planning, control) in on-road or off-road environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex hardware/software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with L4 autonomous trucking deployments.
  • Experience with real-time middleware for robotics applications.
  • Knowledge of HD maps, V2X communication, and remote assistant systems used in autonomous vehicle operations.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle calibration tools, perception tuning, or control parameter optimization.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles within the automotive or robotics industries.
  • Ability to use Japanese for technical communication with customers and engineering teams.

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.

Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
