Application Support Engineer

As an Application Support Engineer at Formlabs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our critical business applications, encompassing both off-the-shelf and custom-developed solutions. You will be the primary point of contact for users experiencing issues, providing timely resolution and maintaining high levels of user satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and other technical teams to troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent application issues, contributing to the seamless operation of our business processes. You will work on projects to improve applications, including building new features and resolving bugs.
The Job:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for a range of business applications spanning the business ecosystem including custom-developed tools, off-the-shelf solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve application issues, including performance problems, data discrepancies, and system errors.
- Collaborate with end-users and business stakeholders to understand issues, gather details, and provide effective solutions.
- Escalate complex issues to relevant development teams or vendors and act as a liaison to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform routine system health checks, monitoring, and maintenance to ensure optimal application performance and stability.
- Participate in the deployment and configuration of new application features or updates, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of application support procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, features, and industry trends related to business application support.
You:
- 2-4 years of experience in an application support role preferred, supporting a mix of off-the-shelf and custom applications.
- Strong understanding of IT support best practices and incident management.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
- Experience with various operating systems and database concepts relevant to application support.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Customer-focused with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus Skills:
- Passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies
- Experience with core enterprise systems (e.g., NetSuite ERP, Salesforce CRM, Magento eCommerce).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation or data manipulation.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Desk, Zendesk).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
