ARO Compliance Auditor - Healthcare Security
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Auditor, Health Care Security, to join our organization and support the safe and secure handling of medications within our retail, compounding, and veterinary care operations! This role will focus their efforts on ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations and internal Chewy procedures. Additionally, they will coordinate the development and management of the health care security auditing program. They will use Chewy’s permitting requirements, related to the secure handling, storage, and distribution of medications, as its core foundation. The Regulatory Compliance Auditor will implement and coordinate recurring audit protocols, ensuring that Chewy exceeds regulatory standards and applies standard processes in medication security across all Chewy operations.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct regular audits of Chewy’s retail, compounding, and vet care operations to ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements for secure medication handling.
- Lead and implement protocols for the secure storage, handling, and distribution of medications, identifying and addressing areas for improvement in security practices.
- Handle and maintain all health care-related permits, ensuring adherence to requirements that uphold medication security across Chewy operations.
- Develop and update security measures to meet regulatory standards, integrating standard methodologies across various business units and operational sites.
- Document audit findings, permit statuses, and compliance levels, ensuring clear record-keeping and open reporting of security practices.
- Collaborate with teams across Chewy to build effective corrective actions into policy updates, reducing the risk of process drift and maintaining compliance organization-wide.
- Remain up-to-date with healthcare security regulations and industry standards, applying relevant changes to maintain Chewy’s compliance and readiness for inspections.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Pharmacy, Security Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical permitting requirements and regulatory standards for medication security and handling.
- Experience with compliance auditing in pharmaceutical, retail, or health care environments.
- Meticulous with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, capable of identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work mutually across teams and provide clear training on security protocols.
- Ability to lead multiple audits, track permit requirements, and maintain high standards for medication handling security.
Bonus:
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar professional certification are highly attractive.

Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a ARO Compliance Auditor position is $87,000.00 - $130,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, and a new hire and annual equity grant.
