Role: Associate Design Director (Part-Time)

About the role:
Working on an innovative healthcare client, the Associate Design Director creates impactful crafted communications, smart ideas and develops design best practices. This role delivers a vast range of marketing and branded material; from campaign creation, social assets, identity, presentations, whilst also leading and mentoring other designers, MGD’s and artworkers in a small but efficient client focussed in-house team.
This role will be the partner to the client's Central Marketing team. We have been their in-house agency partner for the past 7 years and are now entering a new phase of the partnership to support their ambition for the business. The team is UK based.
The client is a leading independent healthcare group in the United Kingdom. The group delivers high standards of care to insured, self-pay and NHS patients, running 38 hospitals and 50+ clinics, medical centres and consulting rooms. As we continue to support the client's Central Marketing team there is also an opportunity to ensure other areas of the client's business feel and value the support of the Central team and the in-house agency, so we are looking for someone who is looking to prove the impact you can have as a brand partner and drive the team in the delivery of initiatives.
What you will be doing:- Collaborate with the Business Director to lead the team, while personally engaging in design tasks.
- Direct and contribute to projects that demonstrate our design and conceptual skills, participating actively from ideation to finalisation.
- Hands-on conceptually and craft, leans into day-to-day workflows
- Support and develop the skills of the team’s other designers, ensuring strong brand consistency.
- Brand guardianship and ability to activity update and push the brand
- Ability to thrive around pressure points and client changes
- Win the respect of the client as the go-to for contemporary crafted brand comms, ideas on how the evolve communications, industry best practice and trends
- Catalogue and curate our best design work
- Collaborate with teams on ideation, creation, art direction and implementation
- Ability to articulate and present a clear rationale to accompany the work
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects).
- Strong expertise in contemporary design aesthetics and typography, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to integrate business and client objectives into creative solutions efficiently, can then interrogate and relay a brief effortlessly.
- Conceptually lead, ideas first – graphic style second
- Self-initiated mindset with ability to manage their time and others time efficiently
- Deep interest in design and social media, staying informed on technological advancements.
- Skills to lead and brief designers, offering constructive feedback allowing them to push the quality of the work.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication skills – able to express themselves clearly and build relationships
- Proactive, positive, can-do attitude with a determined work ethic
- The ability to manage, mentor and develop other designers.
- 5+ years experience design/advertising/marketing environment sectors.
