Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring an Associate Director of App Marketing to own the strategy and execution of programs that incentivize Chewy customers to use the Chewy mobile app, and create meaningful, long-term engagement with Chewy. This is a key role on Chewy’s app marketing team and requires deep functional expertise in app acquisition and engagement marketing, including paid / owned / earned traffic generation, app store SEO, and in-app customer engagement.

The ideal candidate is relentless, data-driven, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. We are looking for someone who is passionate about app engagement, mobile marketing technology, measurement, ad platform functionality and creative strategy, and is motivated to drive Chewy’s app engagement marketing initiatives to the next level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build Chewy’s app marketing and engagement strategy and execution to incent pet parents to use the Chewy mobile app
  • Manage a paid marketing budget to drive app installs within the guardrails of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regularly partner, present and report to senior leadership and stakeholders on app marketing strategies, plans, and findings, including progress to App install, 1st purchase, and MAU goals.
  • Seamlessly partner with Marketing Analytics and Core Product teams to troubleshoot technical bugs or develop performance monitoring, reporting, or tracking needs
  • Own the development of successful paid digital strategies focusing on cohort analysis, audience segmentation, and campaign objectives that will drive target outputs in alignment with merchandising strategy.
  • Partner closely with Sponsored Ads, Integrated Marketing, Merchandising, and Ad Platform stakeholders to drive the channel strategy and deliver best in class execution across setup, optimization, and creative iteration.
  • Fluently convey the values of campaigns with objectives at different funnel stages, articulate 3P reporting trends, and build 1P understanding of media incrementality on our objectives.
  • Build and manage mechanisms that convey progress on goals and roadmap inputs and represent performance of channel investment and performance vs. financial plan.
  • Maintain a sharp focus on the industry, ad platform developments, and translate that POV into strategic recommendations that demonstrate active budget management in the channel.
  • Design and execute structured A/B tests focused on campaign management, incrementality, and creativity.

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of app / customer engagement marketing experience
  • Experience managing large-scale paid marketing campaigns, preferably focused on driving app installs and app engagement.
  • Technical skills to understand app performance tracking and measurement solutions.
  • Ability to manage the strategy while inspecting the tactical execution on new campaigns, manage up on performance reads, strategic evolution and development of POVs and insights that help the business scale.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize resources while working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing organization while leading improvement of nascent cross- functional processes.
  • Strong understanding of the data privacy landscape including platform updates and upcoming changes.
  • Mindset and ability to present ideas to senior level leadership, take feedback, and engage in debates to hone our strategy and drive growth for the business.
  • Advanced Excel skills and basic SQL skills

Compensation & Benefits: 

Our salary range for a Associate Director of App Marketing position is $149,000.00 - $245,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
