The Business of Fashion (BoF) is looking to hire an Associate Director of Business Development to join the Commercial Team. This role will support the ongoing growth of BoF Insights, The Business of Fashion’s data and analysis think tank. 

BoF Insights is a long-term partner, providing end-to-end strategic advice to its clients. ​​Advising fashion, retail and beauty companies on a wide range of strategic and tactical projects.

What We Need You To Do 

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing company as a key member of its commercial team. This position will be based in our London office, and will report to the Head of Business Development in London, who oversees global partnerships across BoF Insights, BoF Professional and BoF Careers. 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Source and close BoF Insights partnerships across:
    • Bespoke Advisory Projects (Strategy Consulting Work)

Go to Market StrategyMerchandising analysisConsumer InsightsDue Diligence for M&A Activity

    • Brand Magic (AI driven marketing analysis) 
  • Build relationships with senior executives in the fashion, beauty and professional services industries. (CMOs, Heads of Consumer Insights, Heads of Strategy etc.)
  • Work closely with Head of Business development to craft BoF Insights commercial strategy
  • Work closely with the BoF Insights team to craft proposals and create scopes of work. As well as handling all commercial aspects of partnerships. 
  • Act as a brand ambassador for BoF

Who You Are

  • An experienced Business Development professional, with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experienced in consultative sales, ideally in selling strategic partnerships (Strategy Consulting or Consumer Insights sales background preferred)
  • Confident to represent BoF at both in-person and online engagements and are viewed as a respected and trusted BoF “ambassador” among senior executives in the industry seeking out our finger-on-the-pulse knowledge.

You’ll Know You’re Successful When…

  • You are sourcing and closing BoF Insights partnerships, delivering against our sales targets (£1M/annum)
  • You are building senior level relationships in the industry, creating awareness for BoF Insight’s products and services
  • You are working well with the existing BD and BoF Insights teams
