The role

As an Associate Director of Data Analytics within the Data Alliance, you will be leading the definition of analytics best practices, owning the community of practice around reporting as well as establishing the new ways of working around self-serve analytics (SSA) capabilities. The Data team works at enabling the company in such a way that “at HelloFresh, everyone is an analyst”, with the aim to speed up time to actionable insight.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate closely with other data leaders, senior business leaders and the analyst community. The ideal candidate must be skilled in problem scoping, formulating insightful questions, and leading strategic analytical projects.
  • Lead the Reporting and Standardisation squad, designing and building new self-serve analytics (SSA) capabilities and owning the company’s reporting tools. The set up of SSA capabilities is a highly strategic initiative. Its leader must be able to align priorities beyond their own team and understand how these capabilities will enable business decision makers.
  • Partner closely with leaders in the Data Alliance to organize the company’s information to enable the fast production of advanced analytics.
  • Advocate for all analytics best practices and engage business decision makers in using new advanced capabilities to make better and faster decisions.

What you'll bring

  • At least 4 years experience managing a team of individual contributors as a direct people manager
  • Excellent technical skills applying expert level SQL, Python as a plus, for both analysis and efficient manipulation of large data sets.
  • Expert level knowledge of data visualization tools, particularly Tableau, for creating clear, impactful, and engaging visual representations that communicate complex data insights effectively to diverse stakeholders. Previous experience with Thoughtspot, Mixpanel or similar tools is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in quantitative analysis roles, ideally including having worked closely with marketing, operations and/or product teams for at least 3 years.
  • Excellent communication skills, taking complex business problems, articulating these as analytical problems and presenting your findings in a clear and precise way.
  • You are outcome oriented, and can take a business challenge, create actionable analytical insights against it, and align stakeholders on actions to create business value.
  • Previous experience implementing self-serve analytics capabilities and semantic layers is a differentiator.
