To help us on this journey, we are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Engineering to lead our Experimentation Platform Teams.

The Role

As Associate Director of Engineering, you will spearhead the development of HelloFresh's Experimentation Platform, playing a pivotal role in fostering and evangelizing a culture of data-driven product development. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping our long-term strategy as well as a great Experimentation product for all teams in HelloFresh. 

What you’ll do

• Leadership: Lead and inspire cross-functional product teams dedicated to building and maintaining HelloFresh's Experimentation Platform. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Strategy and Vision: Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to define the vision and roadmap for the Experimentation Platform. Align the platform's strategy with HelloFresh's overall business objectives.
• Operational and Engineering Excellence: Drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance experimentation solutions. Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software engineering, coding standards, and security.
• Talent Development: Build and develop high-performing cross-functional teams. Mentor team members, provide guidance on technical challenges, and support their professional growth.
• Customer Centricity: Collaborate closely with teams running experiments, supporting them in adopting tools, investigating issues, and getting to actionable results faster.

What you’ll bring

• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional product development teams. 
• Strong technical proficiency in relevant technologies (e.g., Python, GoLang, BigData technologies like Spark, AWS) and a background in software development.
• Demonstrated experience with experimentation methodologies, A/B testing, and feature flagging (either as a heavy user or platform owner).
• Exceptional communication skills, emphasizing the importance of data-driven decision-making to cross-functional teams.
• Results-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Demonstrable past experience with agile methodologies, with a strong focus on data-driven experimentation, lean thinking, and quick iterations.
