The Team & Role

THE ROLE

A positive, agile, execution-oriented, accountable, business-focused Legal leader and communicator to help drive our Commercial and Go-To-Market revenue generation support strategies. 

The Associate General Counsel, Commercial reports to the VP Deputy General Counsel, Commercial, and has responsibilities that include:

(i) developing collaborative and influential relationships with the EMEA Zuora Sales team and providing strategic and focused advice and support sales transactions;

(ii) developing and advancing Zuora’s revenue generation strategies;

(iii) working collaboratively with Legal colleagues, including with respect to leading commercial transaction support and contract negotiation and associated transactions, including with respect to protecting customer privacy; and

(iv) otherwise driving Legal projects and priorities. 

This role will be based out of our London office (Soho area) at least two days a week. There is some opportunity to travel (<10%), especially in support of developing relationships with Sales leaders and Legal teammates. 

The pay and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with this important role. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Help to drive company revenue and growth by providing focused efficient commercial transaction support, including efficient processes for negotiating and managing transactions. 
  • Collaborate with Legal colleagues, including on privacy and security compliance, IP-related contract provisions, other IP protection matters and M&A diligence support. 
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Zuora’s business, product roadmaps, go-to-market strategy and competition.
  • Implement and communicate best practices and process automation, including by monitoring the competitive business landscape.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years or more of relevant law firm and/or legal department experience.
  • JD or equivalent from an accredited law school 
  • Demonstrated in-house experience, being strategic with respect to complex commercial contract negotiations and transactions within the technology industry and professional services. 
  • Deep experience partnering and providing support to SaaS Sales teams is a plus.
