Wellness continues to be a dynamic and high-pressure space — especially for brands in categories like Beauty, Food & Drink, and Household — as they respond to fast-evolving consumer needs and expectations. The Associate Principal Analyst serves as a future-focused expert for a variety of Mintel’s clients, delivering insightful, high-impact content and client engagement that shapes strategic thinking around how to innovate in the wellness industry. With deep category expertise, this role focuses on synthesizing data and trends to craft compelling narratives that help clients anticipate change and stay ahead of their competitors. 

Working across both client engagements and content development, you’ll collaborate with commercial teams to identify emerging issues, co-create forward-thinking materials, and lead client-facing sessions. This is an ideal role for a strong communicator who thrives on crafting new ideas and bringing insights to life in a way that resonates with clients. 

We are looking for a wellness subject matter expert that can author compelling content and also guide clients. Your perspective will inform how wellness influences consumer decision-making—particularly in the CPG space—as you help brands innovate and lead in the wellness industry. 

This is a Hybrid position based in Chicago. 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Deliver Insightful Content
    • Create and/or contribute to key syndicated content pieces each year
    • Support content creators by helping shape the storyline and elevating the strategic narrative, ensuring content includes recommendations for how our clients can use the insights to grow their business
    • Provide input and guidance on content quality and future-readiness 
  • Lead Client Engagements
    • Serve as a subject-matter expert for a variety of Mintel clients
    • Lead forward-looking presentations, deliver webinars, and facilitate sessions based on syndicated content 

What We Are Looking For: 

  • Experience: 8-10 years in a research or insights role, with proven success creating high-quality, actionable content, as well as deep category expertise within Wellness
  • Presentation Skills: Confident public speaker with strong stage presence; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Analytical & Creative: Skilled at drawing conclusions from complex data sets and telling a compelling, future-focused story
  • Client-Centric: Experienced working directly with clients, understanding their challenges and helping to shape client growth opportunities 
  • Collaborative: Works seamlessly with cross-functional teams, especially Commercial, Consulting, and Content
  • Strategic Communicator: Executive-level presence and communication; adept at tailoring messaging for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Analytical & Conceptual Thinker: Excels at solving novel problems, synthesizing insights across data sources, and identifying emerging trends.
  • Client-Centric & Commercially Aware: Able to translate insights into business implications and partner on growth strategies.
  • Collaborative Influencer: Trusted advisor and cross-functional collaborator with high organizational awareness.
  • Process-Oriented Leader: Regularly contributes to process optimization and the development of scalable insight workflows. 

Time Allocation:

  • 50-60%: Client engagement
  • 40-50%: Developing content by creating your own and collaborating with others to enhance and elevate their work 

The below reflects the range of base salary for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, and qualifications. The salary range for this role is: $80,000 USD to $100,000 USD.
