At RV Education (EDU), we believe in the power of online learning to create opportunities and transform lives. In partnership with over 300 colleges and universities, we help individuals make smart educational decisions that meet their needs and career aspirations. Our trusted brands like BestColleges serve over 90 million unique annual visitors with educational resources and advice.

EDU’s Publishing team operates in the gap between our Editorial teammates, who write and edit the content that populates our pages, and our Engineering teammates, who maintain the bones of our domains and lead the most technical projects. As an Associate Web Publisher, you will be responsible for translating content into coded HTML and CSS; uploading it to our portfolio of education websites; and performing basic site maintenance tasks to enhance performance and user experience.

This is an entry-level, non-engineering role and requires no coding language outside of semantic HTML. Publishers also rely on a suite of proprietary component shortcode Engineering has created for us as well as Tailwind CSS. Past experience with either of these is welcome, but our team will provide on-the-job training, as well.

We are looking for a hardworking, meticulous individual who can meet tight deadlines while working independently to manage publishing projects. Ideal candidates will adapt quickly, handle multiple projects at once, and keep up with the fast pace of our content production engine. Previous digital publishing experience is not required, but candidates should be passionate about digital media and able to communicate and collaborate with editors, designers, engineers, SEO associates, and project managers.

RV EDU is proudly headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is dedicated to cultivating local talent and driving economic development on the island. While many of our roles are located in Puerto Rico, some are also located at RV’s main campus south of Charlotte, NC, or are remote-based.

We believe that diverse, inclusive teams are better teams. Think of the bullets below as guidelines: If you only partially meet the qualifications, we encourage you to apply anyway!

What You'll Do
  • Turn raw copy into live web pages by coding content in HTML according to domain-specific brand guidelines
  • Upload, update, and maintain web pages using a content management system
  • Add images, charts, graphs, and other components to the page to enhance user experience
  • Check finalized content and pages for errors
  • Contribute to portfolio-wide publishing projects to fix errors and hone our competitive edge
  • Troubleshoot basic technical and content-quality issues and report more complicated ones to our Engineering team
What We're Looking For
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional communication skills
  • A strong desire for finding and fixing errors
  • A solid sense of how to organize and visualize information
  • Basic knowledge of semantic HTML (e.g., hyperlinks, paragraph formatting, tables, lists)
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and web accessibility best practices
  • Basic image skills: choosing, renaming, editing, and uploading
  • Some familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems
  • Microsoft Office/Google Suite proficiency (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Content and/or design background is preferred and helpful for this role
