Automation Tech Support (Warehouse Management Systems)
Our team’s mission is to provide first-level support for all fulfillment systems (including WMS, WCS) at our automated production site in Derby, with occasional support at our German facility in Barleben. As part of a new warehouse software implementation team, you will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations. You will serve as the first point of contact for system-related inquiries.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Provide real-time support for our Warehouse Control System (WCS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, recommend and implement change controls, and define local reporting requirements
- Develop dashboards to enable system analysis and monitoring
- Continuously evaluate software systems, driving improvements through enhancements or change requests
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal development teams to resolve critical system issues
- Create and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials for WMS and WCS
- Ensure comprehensive reporting structures are in place to support operational transparency
Who You Are:
- Strong experience working in WMS/WCS-driven production or fulfillment environments as system superuser or software engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes and supporting technologies
- Demonstrated interest in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently while consistently meeting deadlines
Preferred Technical Skills:
- DevOps practices
- GitHub
- Problem-solving in operational environments
- Python scripting
- SQL database querying
- WCS/WCS engineering experience
