We are looking for a Bilingual Recipe Translator to support the HelloFresh and Chefs Plate weekly recipe card process, specifically focused on French customer-facing content. You will provide high-quality translation adaptations for our weekly HelloFresh recipe cards, Product and FSQA documents and Ingredient Terminology sheets. Reporting to the Senior Recipe Editor and working closely with the Editorial team, you will play a key role in ensuring French customer-facing content is clear and correct while supporting the English copy editing process. We seek your fresh perspective on our current French process to help us evolve more efficiently.

Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for

  • Support the Editorial and Production Operations teams with managing the weekly French translation processes within both the digital and physical recipe cards
  • Main point of contact for the external translation agency and freelance team for hand-off and receiving of work
  • Translate, review and proofread translated content to ensure content language aligns with the English version of the content
  • Ensure consistency and quality across French copy and customer-facing information
  • Support the Editorial team with English editorial processes, including weekly check-points and deadlines, as well as reviewing recipe copy content for HelloFresh and Chefs Plate
  • Ensure consistency and quality across recipe copy content and customer-facing information for both French and English
  • Support dynamic weekly French and English recipe edits in response to menu changes that can arise
  • Support tracking of recipe copy content and customer-facing errors by supporting the use of internal change tracker tools 
  • Support short-term and long-term editorial-based projects when needed
  • Work collaboratively with recipe developers and other culinary stakeholders to maintain and update French editorial style guides
  • Complete data and content clean-up tasks or projects that impact recipe card information when needed
  • Collaborate with our customer care team to resolve customer's concerns that may appear on our French recipe cards
  • All other duties, as assigned

  • Bilingual in Canadian French and English, both written and oral (native French speaker preferred)
  • 2-3 years of translation experience and confidence in supporting a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Translation software knowledge and experience: Antidote, Trados Studio, DeepL
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) is a significant asset.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience
  • An expert-level eye for detail - you’ll catch the most minor things: inconsistencies, technical inconsistencies, typos and grammatical errors.
  • Advanced organizational skills and confidence to handle multiple deadlines in a given week.
  • A desire to continuously seek and implement process improvement
  • Confidence in your work and abilities - you’re able to problem-solve independently
