Billing Operations Assistant Manager

We are looking for a Billing Operations Team Lead to play an integral part in scaling Toast’s rapidly growing business. This person will be the go-to leader for the daily billing operations team. You will join a growing Billing Operations team that partners closely with Accounting and other stakeholders to manage key billing functions such as daily invoicing, crediting customers, and month end AR close. This person will work on key drivers for our financials, ensuring high standards of a publicly owned company.
This role will provide a strong opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills in building and motivating a high performing team, and managing with metrics. You will be required to support various levels of the team problem solve, as well as act as an escalation point. About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Manage a team of Billing Operations Representatives, ensuring work is done on a timely basis
- Oversee various Sarbanes-Oxley Act activities and audits to ensure compliance
- Ability to host critical conversations related to individual or group performance against performance metrics, SLAs or other expectations
- Coach, mentor, hire, and train team members
- Ensure that the team is consistently meet strict deadlines related to month-end close
- Serve as a primary escalation point while working cross-functionally with various departments and customers
- Ensure deadlines are met which may include the testing of new systematic changes or enhancements, audits, escalations, etc
- Guide new Toast initiatives to ensure proper billing
- Lead projects and stakeholder management related to billing efficiencies or process improvements
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- BS/ BA/ BCom with total years of experience as 7-9 Years & prior team management experience.
- Ability to work with key stakeholders throughout various levels of management and to influence others
- Highly organized but adaptable with an ability to navigate ambiguity with grace
- Confidence prioritizing and making time-sensitive decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with extreme attention to detail
- Strong time management and sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Experience managing an effective team
- Shift Timings: 2pm- 11pm
- Candidates with notice period of 30 days or less will be preferred
Special Sauce* (Nice to Haves)
- Prior experience with Netsuite, SalesForce, of other similar SaaS- based ERP and CRM systems
- Account experience a plus
