As the Billing Operations Lead, you will oversee and optimize the billing processes that are crucial to Lyft Business and Lyft Media’s financial health. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless billing operations, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving efficiency at scale, embodying our value of operational excellence. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance (FP&A, accounting), sales, operations, engineering, and customer support, to develop, manage, and scale billing programs that align with Lyft’s goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the billing operations process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations for Lyft Media and Lyft Business.
  • Be responsible for calculating invoice or billing adjustments in line with existing processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational standards.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing billing systems, implement improvements, and maintain system integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Sales Operations, FP&A, Product Management, Engineering (Product, CRM, IT Corp, and FinTech), and Customer Support, to assess business needs and drive scalable billing solutions aligned with organizational OKRs and operational goals.
  • Develop and launch initiatives aimed at streamlining billing operations and improving customer service.
  • Assess and manage stakeholder expectations and ensure key stakeholders and decision-makers are bought-in on key initiatives and milestones.
  • Understand the key metrics and OKRs defining program success and ensure leadership is provided the right information to make data-driven decisions
  • Analyze billing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Ensure all billing activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, and prepare detailed reports on billing operations for management review.
  • Serve as lead and mentor a team of billing specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 6+ years of experience in billing operations or finance; technical experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with B2B or media sales billing processes is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of billing regulations and compliance requirements within the industry.
  • Experience with billing software and systems; proficiency in GSuite and Salesforce; familiarity with project management tools is preferred.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $104,000-$130,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
