About the role

The Brand & Content Insights Manager will help Crunchyroll make informed decisions related to marketing strategies, brand development and content positioning. This requires someone who has a understanding of creative and research processes and how to best blend the two. Your work will involve the management, implementation, analysis, reporting, and creative presentation of multiple forms of content and brand-related research -- integrating quant, qual, and social listening approaches and contextualizing the findings through the lens of existing 1PD and business goals whenever relevant.

We are looking for someone with a demonstrated advanced working knowledge of content research, brand health studies and the streaming industry, excited to investigate some of the most important topics in entertainment today.

In the role of Brand & Content Insights Manager, you will report to the Senior Director of Research & Insights.

You will adopt a hybrid work model and we are considering applicants for both our Los Angeles or San Francisco office.

A day in the life of our Brand & Content Insights Manager;
  • Manage all brand-related studies and analyses -- translate complex data into engaging and scalable self-serve tools and deliverables (brand heath dashboards, “state of” decks) for a variety of partners
  • Measure and monitor user satisfaction and loyalty through surveys and feedback mechanisms; track brand goals, mentions, and sentiment to gauge brand health and reputation
  • Lead research to deliver strategic presentation and insight memos on multiple titles (target audiences, IP insights, drivers/barriers, brand filter) to inform marketing campaigns for upcoming series and movies through social audits, content positioning and other creative evaluations (trailers/artwork tests)
  • Identify and segment target consumer groups – from detailed demographic and psychographic profiles to their needs, preferences, and pain points
  • Manage research partners and other vendors (panels, survey partners) to design, field, report, and present the best research projects
  • Identify unmet consumer needs, market gaps, and other critical opportunities for our anime business and Crunchyroll brand, communicating larger themes to the organization
  • Support the development of more junior team members (analysts, interns/trainees) by fostering an environment of learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration
About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • You are passionate about research, consumer insight, and storytelling
  • You have 8+ years of relevant experience working with primary and secondary data sources to deliver decision-ready insights and compelling presentations that help solve business questions and spark the corporate imagination
  • You possess 5 years of experience designing end-to-end quant/qual research studies on time and budget and delivering compelling team member-facing presentations
  • You can tell a consumer and data-driven story, tailoring your presentation style to different internal audiences landing the “why” behind the “what”
  • You are experienced in brand research and/or testing creative assets, including key art, promos, and trailers, and putting together reports to share with different teams across the company
  • You are a master of synthesis – you can analyze and integrate relevant insights from large and diverse data sets to create an articulate and visually compelling narrative
  • You are a creative researcher who enjoys developing new skills, learning, working with new tools, connecting with new vendors and industry counterparts
  • You enjoy mentoring junior staff
