About our team

The Studio at Okta is an in-house agency within Marketing, composed of creatives, strategists, producers and marketing managers alike. Our team’s focus is to lead the brand, tell powerful stories, and inspire creative excellence. 

Sitting within The Studio, the Brand Team is in charge of brand strategy, verbal expression  (voice & naming), creative strategy, brand management, and brand measurement. We advocate for the power of brand across Okta as well as support marketing activities and excellence. 

As a partner to cross-functional teams across all of Okta, we tie our goals to our most important company initiatives, driving towards shared KPIs, strategies, and processes to unify and push the brand and business forward.

About this role

We are looking for a Brand Manager to join our team and help own and lead our brand awareness programs - campaigns and partnerships. As 2 newer programs within Okta, this role will be critical in not only setting up these programs, but also helping to drive the continued investment and evolution of them.  

As the strategic link and partner to our external agencies and partners supporting these programs, you will be the central function to connect the dots and drive engagement and alignment across these programs, all in service of maximizing our brand awareness and unlocking new opportunities for the brand. You will help lead the program workstreams and guide how the brand is leveraged for maximum impact, giving you the opportunity to problem solve and think creatively while also delivering on the output.

What you will do

Your role will primarily focus on two areas: brand partnerships and brand awareness campaigns. You will act as the liaison between the Brand Team and the rest of the organization for these two high value, high visibility initiatives. 

Brand Partnerships

  • Act as the key strategic brand liaison to the external brand partner, helping to connect the dots internally and providing strategic input on brand opportunities and tactics.
  • Partner with Sales, Strategic Events, and The Studio to ensure the brand partnership opportunities are being maximized and measured.
  • Own the campaign and promotional efforts around the brand partnership, helping to craft the strategy and briefs, and drive the workstreams with key teams such as Comms, Content, Social, Creative, etc.
  • Partner with Brand and Creative to build employee engagement around the partnership internally, helping to own the strategy and execution of internal campaigns, promotional and comms activities like contests, Slack channels, All Hands presentations, etc.
  • Partner with the relevant Creative teams to strategize on and deliver key creative assets inc. event toolkits, co-branded lockups, swag, etc.

Brand Campaigns

  • Partner with the media agency and key internal teams to plan, develop, and execute on global brand awareness campaigns across various channels.
  • Act as the key strategic partner to the media agency, helping to connect the dots internally and providing strategic input on media strategy and tactics.
  • Partner with the Brand Project Manager to ensure the timely and strategic delivery of key assets throughout the campaign lifecycle, e.g. media tactic feedback, creative deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Campaigns, Comms and other Marketing groups to ensure consistent messaging across related efforts and to help to pull the campaign messaging and creative throughout the marketing funnel.
  • Partner with the media agency and Business Ops to monitor and analyze channel performance, leveraging data to optimize strategies and maximize ROI.
  • Own, build, and distribute key resources and communications to keep all key leaders and global teams informed of campaign progress, inc. media flight calendars, campaign assets, performance updates, etc.

What experience you have

  • 5+ working as a Brand Campaign Manager, Brand Partnerships Manager, Brand Manager (or comparable experience) in B2B tech or tech generally
  • Proven experience building and delivering on integrated brand campaign programs and managing brand tools, processes, and assets
  • Proven experience supporting comparable programs - either campaigns or brand partnerships
  • Proven ability to think strategically while delivering against tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to understand and drive insights and action around key metrics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience working with executives and with cross-functional teams

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$123,000—$185,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $138,000—$206,000 USD
