THE ROLE 

Key responsibilities 

The Automation Business Analyst is a vital role within Agilisys and this role will allow our automation team to deliver best in class Intelligent Automation solutions utilising market leading automation software across Blue Prism, Blue Prism Cloud, UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform. 

 

Specific duties 

Depending on the project, you will need to be comfortable doing the following: 

  • Agile working. You are experienced in working in cross functional or matrix teams consisting of a mix of people from the client and supplier. You can identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.  
  • Business analysis. You can take responsibility for investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing and new services. You know how to drive the analysis and collection of information to create high-quality Process Definition Documents that can be clearly understood by the end-users and Automation Development teams and meet best practice.  
  • Business process improvement. You know how to analyse current services and processes (these will often include offline processes as well as legacy technology systems) and can identify and implement opportunities to optimise these for automation. 
  • Business modelling. You can model more advanced and complex situations across more than one business function or programme. You know how to gather insight from senior stakeholders and communicate modelling results clearly to them. 
  • Business benefits. You are able to articulate and present the benefits of Intelligent Automation and identify candidate processes with a high potential for automation. You can derive and model potential benefits, including quantifiable and soft benefits, from a solution and use this to create business cases to clearly articulate ROI for automation solutions. 
  • Methods and tools. You can select and support the right automation tools and methodologies within the common Agilisys business analysis framework and you can identify areas that require a more tailored approach. You can estimate and provide planning support on business analysis tasks.  
  • Analysis techniques. You can plan, develop and facilitate structured workshops with complex and resistant stakeholder dynamics. You can facilitate the setting of business priorities for change initiatives of high complexity and where there are competing needs. 
  • Stakeholder relationship management. You have working experience of undertaking projects within the public sector, ideally local government.  
  • Test Management: Knowledge of how products and processes are tested using various techniques. Management of the testing processes including governance considerations. 
  • Change Leadership: You can identify, plan and lead change management activities to achieve seamless implementation of new products, processes and ways-of-working. An ability to develop and deliver high-quality training and educational materials focused on processes and technology. 
  • Digital perspective. You can apply an understanding of automation solutions to your work. You can identify the limitations and solutions for those with limited skills or abilities with digital technologies. 
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative approach by building and nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders, both within Agilisys and with external partners, to achieve shared goals and deliver exceptional outcomes.

Opportunity 

This role is an excellent platform for experienced professionals to take their career to the next level. Automation Analysts will gather requirements for development of new automated processes for various IT projects, across all aspects of the business. This work includes gathering and analysing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. Liaising between the testing and technical development teams to ensure changes to IT systems, processes and ways-of-working are fit for purpose, well documented, understood and owned by the relevant business department(s). You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members. 

  

ABOUT YOU 

The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results while embracing change and uncertainty. Stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role. 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Work independently 
  • Documentation and writing skills – PDD/SDD/Process Maps BPMN2 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Analytical thinking and process orientated. 
  • Able to build relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Able to assimilate information quickly and draw conclusions from it. 
  • Have an excellent understanding of business analysis. 
  • Sensitively elicit the needs and requirements of the organisation and propose solutions 
  • Knowledge of Automation Best Practice through demonstrable experience in creation of Process Definition Documentation and Solution Definition Documents 
  • UiPath (Preferred) or Blue Prism certification in Business Analysis or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of Process/Task Mining platforms an advantage (Soroco/UiPath) 
  • Experience building disciplined Agile working practices. 
  • Documenting requirements in the form of Agile User Stories and Acceptance Criteria 
  • Where appropriate, using more formal analysis techniques such as UML, Use Case and Activity Diagrams, and performing business process modelling. 
  • Presentation skills for the walk-through of possible solution designs, investigation of issues 
  • Ability to research information and analyse data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and courses of action. 
  • Proven experience in solutions analysis environment with specialisation in business analysis 
  • A good level of analysis experience and knowledge of structured techniques and standards 
  • Good stakeholder relationship management experience
