We are now looking for a proven Business Development Manager in the UK, with a track record of successful hotel contracting to build on our exciting and diverse hotel portfolio.

Secret Escapes operates a flexible working policy and we are all in the office 1 day a week (minimum) and have core hours of 10am-4pm (you can make up the other hours to suit you). The responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will include:

  • Contracting new hotels primarily in the UK market (potential for this to expand internationally over time) to increase our partner portfolio and inspire our worldwide members to travel
  • Building and developing a portfolio of hotels and products to create a diverse portfolio from country hotels and spas to chic and boutique in the city, from resorts to self-catering apartments
  • Market observation for new hotels and business development in your assigned regions across the UK and international market
  • Managing all elements of the contracting process, from target identification and initial contact, right through to pricing and contract agreement
  • Reporting, evaluation and implementation of suitable sales measures to optimise the outcome of the sales pitch
  • Close collaboration with the responsible Contracts Managers to identify new product, portfolio gaps, growing regions and new opportunities
  • Additional collaboration with Revenue, Operations, Finance and Customer Service

 

What we are looking for:

  • A proven Business Development Manager with a track record of successful hotel contracting, plus:
  • Excellent business development and negotiation skills – previous flash sale experience a bonus
  • Enthusiasm for the whole contracting process, from identifying target partners, cold calling, market visits, negotiating and signing the contract
  • Boundless energy and commitment to your work and an entrepreneurial ‘can do’ approach to business

 

You will have:

  • Good knowledge of the UK travel market
  • Good general knowledge of the international hotel market
  • Ability to travel when required (hotel visits, trade fairs, team meetings), with a valid driving license
  • Fluent English. Other languages are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Salesforce
