You will be responsible for the finance of three areas of the business:  involved in installing energy efficiency measures directly to householders, via projects for council and housing association and with third parties in order to meet OVO’s Energy Company Obligation.  This job helps support business areas that make people’s homes warmer and reduce the energy they need.

 

This role in a nutshell:

Working with finance and business leaders, to run purchase cycles, sales cycles, monthly reporting and forecasting of Zero Carbon Living, Energy Solutions and the Energy Company Obligation.  Managing and inspiring a team of 5 finance coordinators. 

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Line management of a finance team of finance coordinators
  • Presenting our business finance information to business and finance leadership
  • Responsibility to report our financial performance in an accurate and timely manner
  • Manage finance processes to ensure we are processing and recording financial information accurately
  • Working with the VAT team to ensure the business area is VAT compliant
  • Working with Senior Leadership teams to develop budgets and forecasts
  • Managing the debt position
  • Taking ownership for the day to day tasks in the team
  • Strong change manager with great knowledge of processes and procedure controls
  • Keeps up to date with financial standards and provide team training as required
  • Manage and take ownership for getting the business areas through the external financial audits
  • Support and challenge leadership decision making Regulatory and industry knowledge 

Systems: Google sheets/excel, workday, salesforce

 

You’ll be a successful Business Finance Manager here at OVO if you…

  • Have a professional qualification or equivalent professional experience in finance
  • Have a proven track record of managing a finance team
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Be confident using different technology systems, in particular google sheets. Even better if you’ve got experience with Workday!
  • Be analytical and methodical with a proactive, positive and solutions orientated approach - you’re a confident problem solver.
  • Have great interpersonal skills and the ability to tailor your approach to individuals 
  • Be confident at pushing back when needed and comfortable influencing a range of business managers
  • Be comfortable presenting and explaining financial information to a wide range of audiences
  • Knowledge of credit control, management reporting and presenting, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
  • Enjoy change, variety and multi-tasking

We’ll pay you between £60,000 and £70,000  depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
