Our Opportunity:

Chewy Health is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our growing healthcare business as we continue to develop veterinary-driven healthcare solutions and industry initiatives supporting the health of veterinary practices and their patients. In this role, you will establish new data solutions to better understand trends for continuous improvement and product development opportunities, and to automate the collection and analysis of vet practice and Chewy customer feedback on our pharmacy products and services.

You’ll start by leading the development of data automation solutions for our Voice of the Clinic and Customer (VOC) program. Today’s process is highly manual, analyzing thousands of weekly feedback data points and anecdotes from both Chewy customers and our vet clinic partners. You’ll simplify that process through automation, accurately aggregating feedback trends while also ensuring individualized follow-up and escalation as needed. Your solutions will help us steer product prioritization, and help further improve our best in class customer experiences as we further enhance partnerships across the veterinary community.

Over time, you’ll play a duel role for Chewy Health—building, troubleshooting, and enhancing backend data structures and metrics definitions, while also serving as a primary data analyst presenting findings on deep dives for critical business questions. This highly-visible role will cut across teams—from Product to Sales to Analytics to Customer Support—ensuring consistency and accuracy in the data used within each team and many intertwined systems. You will be responsible for delivering scalable data infrastructure, developing self-serve analytics tools, and utilizing data visualizations to unlock insights. You will partner directly with Product leaders, IT software and data engineers, business analysts, and business teams to anticipate the data infrastructure and tooling needs of the organization and proactively build solutions that fuel insights.

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement data solutions best-suited to deliver business needs and use cases — from data lakes to analytics tools, across a progressively evolving technical stack.
  • Design experiments, develop measurement frameworks, and partner with Product, Tech, and business leaders to generate results, insights, and actions from product launches and feature changes
  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals.
  • Proactively assess the data needs of Healthcare and related functions and partner with technical teams to deliver proof of concepts, QA data sources, and deliver new data tables, metrics, and analytics products
  • Lead efforts to automate data extraction and distribution of reports to multiple stakeholders
  • Own and continually improve metrics documentation and data governance
  • Construct and deliver analytics product roadmaps that deliver insightful and user-friendly dashboards for both internal and external customers
  • Partner with IT teams to construct downstream impact analysis and own change management communication for Healthcare data sources
  • Document technical details of your work using industry standard protocols like Jira, Confluence etc.
  • Proactively monitor existing metrics, propose new metrics, and work across the organization to deliver actionable intelligence

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience analyzing clickstream data from sources such as Google Analytics, Adobe,  Segment or other platforms
  • Strong understanding and experience leading experiment design, A/B testing, and other frameworks for evaluating effectiveness of feature and product changes
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years automating data processes, developing dashboards, and building scalable analytics solutions in an ecommerce, omni-channel, or retail setting
  • 3+ years of experience managing ETL or data transformation processes, technical architecture documents, and delivering net new or enhancing existing data warehouses
  • 3+ years of experience working with data platforms such as: Snowflake, AWS, Vertica, or other RDB
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and proven ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries
  • Programming expertise in Java, Python, Scala, or another modern programming language
  • Proven experience building self-serve BI solutions and automated reports that enable automated alerting and data quality monitoring
  • Ability to tailor analytics products to meet the needs of end customers using tools ranging from Excel to Tableau
  • Proven experience with data modeling in large Data warehousing / data lake environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience leading change management processes
  • Proven experience delivering high quality and insightful data visualizations and translating complex data into actionable insights
  • Exemplary stakeholder management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks
  • Thorough understanding of Financial KPIs and P&L statement
  • Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Bonus:

  • Advanced degree such as Masters in Analytics or MBA
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience partnering with Data Science teams to deliver machine learning models from scratch.
