The ideal candidate will showcase great business acumen, have a bias towards data-driven decision-making, and be able to work through ambiguity. So, if this interests you, our growing Data Science and Analytics Team is looking forward to speaking with you!

What You'll Do:

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
  • Build and evolve data visualizations capability to tell the story and let the data speak for itself while setting the direction for future reporting.
  • Serve as liaison between the Business and technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance, and ad hoc investigations into future improvements or innovations.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Root Cause Analysis on problems to gain a better understanding and provide appropriate steps to resolve.
  • Support leadership with timely recurring and ad-hoc analyses
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for secondary datasets.
  • Ability to communicate insights for identifying new areas of opportunity that will drive Chewy's value and growth goals forward; coordinate with the stakeholders to prioritize and lead the changes to production.
  • Demonstrated ability to dig into the “why” of various results and present data driven insights and recommendations.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Analytics, or comparable educational background
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in business intelligence or data engineering
  • 6+ years of experience with Tableau
  • 6+ years’ experience in SQL query writing and tuning.
  • Ability to occasionally script and automate using Python or R
  • Familiarity with deployment of scripts, such as DAGs
  • Proficiency in data lineage: including sources of data, how metrics are aggregated; and how resulting business intelligence is consumed and interpreted by the business.
  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and communicate them (verbal/written) to the stakeholders and senior management as required.
  • Experience conducting large-scale data analysis to support business decision making.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical team.
