Location: 3520 Laird Road, Mississauga, ON, CanadaShift: Wednesday to Sunday (7:30 am to 4:00 pm) About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Production Manager who will oversee our warehouse, plating, and fulfillment activities, for our newest brand: Factor (factormeals.ca), a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service. Reporting to the Associate Director, Production, you will lead a team in achieving safety, quality, plan adherence, on-time delivery, and efficiency targets for plating of meals and completing weekly fulfillment of customer orders. As part of our Production team, you will play a key role in delivering a consistently outstanding product to our customers while rapidly scaling this new business. 

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee daily operational activities for warehouse, plating, and fulfillment teams.
  • Build a high-performing culture within the teams you will lead, with specific focus on customer centricity, safety, GMP, quality, employee learning, development & engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Develop, roll out, and manage standard operating procedures, visual tools, and checklists to ensure we are a process-driven operation
  • Responsible for setting targets against and continuously improving employee safety, food safety compliance, quality, pick accuracy, on-time delivery, plan adherence (FIFO), and efficiency
  • Partner with peer managers in Production to develop production plans that focus on product freshness, on-time delivery, plan reliability, while delivering on DC targets
  • Execute and deliver the daily production plan; ensure proper and on-time team, material, facility, and equipment setup; proactively identify and resolve day-to-day bottlenecks and blockers; and drive clear, structured and concise communication to ensure alignment between teams, shifts, and external stakeholders
  • Make tomorrow better than today! Drive continuous improvement in the production facility by engaging team members and broader stakeholders in identifying opportunities, facilitating root-cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and delivering positive and focused change
  • Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.
  • Other duties as assigned

At a minimum, you have: 

  • 4+ years of Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain experience, preferably with a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field
  • Strong understanding of OHS and Food Safety requirements, and applying to warehouse and production environment
  • Experience managing operational teams (20+ team members)
  • A problem solver’s mentality; you see problems as opportunities, identify and simplify complex issues, and drive rapid, focused, and data-driven solutions
  • An authentic approach to leadership; you’re able to build strong relationships, clearly communicate and motivate, and drive accountability at all levels
  • Effective collaboration skills; you empower and enable others to share ideas, raise awareness, get buy-in, and deliver fast and well-rounded solutions to complex problems
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude; used to working in a fast-growing environment
  • Drive and self-motivation; you are a leader with a burning desire to make a meaningful difference in our business and lives of our employees
  • Professional certifications and/or licenses with Lean Six Sigma an asset
  • Comfort with being exposed to hot, cool and/or cold environments (0-30ºC)
