🛋️ What is Category Management at Wayfair?Category Management is where business strategy meets customer experience. Each team owns a product category - like lighting, décor, kitchen, or bedding, and acts as the business owner for that area. We work closely with suppliers, analyse performance, grow our selection and shape how customers interact with products on-site.
As an intern, you’ll be fully immersed in this world, working with real data, solving real problems, and driving real impact.
💼 What You'll DoWhile your exact role will depend on your interests and team match, here’s a glimpse of what you could be working on:

Build Relationships: Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to keep your category thriving.

Spot Opportunities: Research new vendors and product trends to expand our selection and boost performance.

Drive Innovation: Test new ideas, launch experiments, and turn insights into action.

Own Projects: Take the lead on key initiatives, from pricing strategies to promotional planning.

Analyse & Optimize: Use data and web analytics tools to monitor success and identify areas for improvement.

Strategise & Scale: Support the rollout of category growth plans with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Strong communication and collaboration skills — you enjoy working in teams.

A proactive, can-do attitude — you’re quick to learn and not afraid to take initiative.

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

Attention to detail with the ability to work independently.

An interest in eCommerce, retail, or home & lifestyle products — passion goes a long way here!

Basic knowledge of Excel and a curiosity about working with data.
