We are currently seeking a Certification Developer to join Elasticsearch. Our mission is to create and maintain a Certification program that is recognized by the industry as a meaningful and significant measure of an individual’s competence and expertise with the Elastic Stack. Our current Elastic Certifications are hands-on, performance-based exams that require completing a series of timed, real-world tasks on Elasticsearch clusters in a proctored environment.

A successful candidate will be happy working on their own initiative and does not require micro-management. Most of the team works remotely, and we are happy to consider you wherever you live. Responsibilities:
  • Keep existing Elastic certification exam questions up-to-date with the fast-changing features of Elasticsearch and Kibana.
  • Work closely with our certification platform vendor during the development, testing, and provisioning of exams and automatic grading scripts.
  • Assist in working with our subject matter experts cross-functionally to create Job Task Analyses for new exams.
  • Provide light customer support to resolve issues or questions for candidates attempting our certification exams.
  • Assist with grading and recording exams.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
    • Deep understanding of Elasticsearch, including Elastic certifications
    • Experience working for a Certification program in the software industry
    • A minimum of 4 years experience working as an engineer, developer, or integrator in information retrieval or related technologies
    • A minimum of 2 years experience building and developing curriculum, ideally certification content
    • Strong knowledge of the Python programming language (and related ecosystem and libraries) in the Linux/Unix environment, software development, and/or experience with search, databases, and distributed systems.
    • Strong knowledge of GitHub and automation using GitHub Actions.
    • Familiarity with AWS and building AWS infrastructure using Ansible, Packer, and Terraform.

    • Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and neutrality in complex and sensitive situations
