This role in a nutshell:

As Delivery Manager, your core responsibility is to partner with the functional leadership teams across Energy Operations to own and support the delivery of key initiatives from idea through to value delivery. Enabling value delivery through supporting coaching and developing the agile teams within the function. 

You’ll be key to all our Big Room or PI (Programme Increment) Planning, working closely with the Delivery Lead to organise, facilitate and then provide ongoing support for the key outcomes from these quarterly events.

You may support a few teams within a larger delivery structure or lead a smaller value stream.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Coaching and embedding agile ways of working across the Energy Operations.
  • Aligning teams around end to end outcomes. Driving value delivery through working with the leadership teams to showcase benefit delivery. Feed outputs into centrally run benefits realisation frameworks
  • Support the delivery of big room (PI) planning events and team level ceremonies 
  • Act as a scrum master within delivery teams - facilitate key sessions and coach team maturity
  • Identification, mitigation and escalation of key risks and issues
  • Facilitate backlog management and prioritisation with teams. Challenging to ensure a mature portfolio has the correct balance of strategic and team discovered change
  • Contribute to the thought leadership of the OVO Way of Organising. Be interested in what is working in other organisations and sectors. Passionate to continually improve. 

Within your first 3 months month you’ll:

  • Have gotten to know your team members, their challenges and priorities
  • Have prepared for and supported the running of your first Quarterly PI Planning session
  • Be comfortable explaining the key focuses for Energy Operations over the next quarter
  • Understood some of the interdependencies and challenges we face
  • Added loads of value by supporting the team to get the right things done that help our customers
  • Be known in the Energy Operations business as a great collaborator and someone who delivers on commitments
  • Be familiar some the the tech we use to manage our world
  • Helped with Agile coaching in our teams

 

You’ll be a successful Delivery Manager here at OVO if you…

  • A growth and agile approach
  • Experience leading and coaching teams.
  • The ability to be an agile coach. Or have a passion to coach new ways of working having worked in an agile structure previously.
  • Understanding of what it takes to embed a change of attitude and approach when moving to a new way of working.
  • Experience of successfully delivering change in a fast paced, complex business environment
  • Practical experience of continuous improvement / lean  methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to work with key partners and business sponsors
  • Effective communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills

We’ll pay you between £45,760 - £55,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
