We are deeply integrated into the payment eco-system. In the UK, we are direct participants of Faster Payments and Bacs. Modulr hold settlement accounts at the Bank of England. Our payment network connectivity includes CHAPS, Open Banking, SEPA, SWIFT and account issuance in 11 currencies. We are principal issuing members of Visa and Mastercard schemes across UK and Europe.

Our regulatory permissions and governance structure are the foundations of our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.

Our founding team has a wealth of experience in the payments industry and growing successful businesses. Modulr is backed by the venture arms of payments giants PayPal and FIS, as well as growth investors Blenheim Chalcot, General Atlantic, Frog Capital and Europe.

The role 

As a pivotal member of the new “Growth Team,” your primary responsibility will be to deliver 100% Growth from a portfolio of customers who are Accountants, Bookkeepers or Payroll firms with significant growth potential. Operating in a white space, you will have the exciting opportunity to use the tools we give you to unleash the power of payments across our portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Cross sell & Upsell Sales Motions: Prepare and present virtual and in-person presentations for existing partners, demonstrating the value of our payroll and accounts payable products.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key accounts to identify trends, provide platform insights, share product roadmap releases, and scope out any growth opportunities to upsell or promote to premium packages.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Focus on analysing existing customer behaviour to pinpoint upsell potential for premium subscription bundles or additional payment features to create more value for the customer.
  • Be the voice of the customer: Through continuous customer engagement with your portfolio obtain product feedback to improve our product and guide us on what to build next for our customers.
  • Account Management: Dedicate yourself to delivering outstanding customer experiences, ensuring that clients receive unparalleled service. Enhancing customer satisfaction will play a critical role in driving successful upsell opportunities and retention of your allocated portfolio of customers.
  • Develop Growth Strategies: Collaborate with the team to develop data-driven strategies that will not only unlock significant product adoption but also promote upsells of additional features such as payroll and accounts payable.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage positive reviews, and to create more awareness on different integrations by delivering consistent engagement activities. We attend industry events where we connect with existing and new customers across the UK.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data insights to make informed decisions regarding growth strategies and upsell opportunities. Monitor customer behaviour patterns to identify the most appropriate moments to present upsell options using our tools; Microsoft BI, HubSpot, Salesforce, Seismic and others!
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support teams to ensure that growth and upsell efforts are aligned with company objectives.
  • Measure Success: Working to clear benchmarks for growth and upsell metrics, regularly monitoring progress and reporting on achievements, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.

About you

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Account Management, Customer Success or Sales role within Software-as-a-service, payments, or a technology industry.
  • Strategic mindset – can demonstrate forward-thinking, analytical problem-solving, and a long-term vision, capable of proactively planning and making decisions that effectively achieve goals, adapt to changing circumstances.
  • An understanding of the payroll and accounts payable payment landscape for: Businesses, Accountants, Bookkeepers & Payroll Bureaus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem solving and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Growth mindset with the ability to think outside the box, problem solve, incept, and experiment with new ideas.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and a customer-first mentality.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, dynamic environment.

The team

The growth team are an energetic and collaborative team with a growth mindset. Continually improving how we do things by listening to customer feedback and trying to create more value for the customers we work with in our Business Payments channel. The team is responsible for our ecosystem of 1,000+ existing Accountants we work with in partnership today.

The team is currently split between Edinburgh and London offices. We have exciting plans for the growth team as we continue to scale as a business area, so the responsibilities and opportunities are aplenty in the next 12-18 months. The team work closely with Sales, Onboarding, Product, Support and Marketing. The team reports into the Head of Channel Partnerships & Growth.
