We are seeking to hire a candidate with strong financial operations and business analysis skills to join our global Clearing team based in Shanghai, China. You will be part of a group that ensures the reliable flow of our trading activity between our various trading venues and clearing firms across the globe and will assist with the development of new business and back-office initiatives.
We’ll need you to be highly organized and an effective communicator, with a strong interest in financial markets. You should approach problems analytically and with the curiosity to understand how things work and how they can be improved. You’ll bring solid technical skills, be comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and take ownership of your responsibilities in post-trade operations.
What You'll Do:
- Learn and support critical daily Clearing functions, including trade capture, lifecycle management, reconciliation and break resolution across products and venues
- Perform daily trade, position and cash reconciliations between internal systems and external counterparties (brokers, clearing firms, custodians, and prime brokers)
- Monitor and resolve trade, position, and settlement breaks in a timely and controlled manner, escalating where appropriate
- Assist with bringing new business (i.e. new products, markets, strategies, brokers, etc.) online, including testing and operational readiness
- Assist with the continued development of Jump’s back-office infrastructure and finding value-add opportunities to further leverage this infrastructure
- Assist with identifying and improving process deficiencies and implementing more efficient and controlled workflows
- Assist in creating and/or improving written processes and procedures, including checklists and runbooks
- Work closely with traders, understand trading workflows, and build support tailored to their needs
- Collaborate with developers, including providing clear specifications, participating in testing, and ensuring follow-through to meet business requirements
- Regular communication with counterparties, prime brokers, traders, and various internal operations support teams in multiple regions
- Provide operational coverage during APAC trading hours and be able to work on public holidays as required by the trading calendar
- Other duties as assigned or needed
Skills You’ll Need:
- 3–7 years’ work experience preferred in a related capacity (post-trade operations, clearing, middle office, or similar). Experience in a global or regional operations environment is a plus
- Good knowledge of post-trade lifecycles of Equities, Treasuries, Futures, FX, Options, and/or Swaps, etc.
- Experience with external relationship management, including technology vendors, brokers, banks, etc., is preferred
- Exposure to project work and business analysis within financial operations, with examples of improving processes, supporting new business onboarding, or working with Technology on back-office initiatives
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to maintain accuracy while processing large volumes of data under strict time constraints
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgment and proactive decision-making in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in English and Mandarin to both internal and external contacts on a global basis
- Proven ability to maintain composure during stressful situations
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related fields
