CNC Machinist (Formed Structures)

CNC MACHINIST (FORMED STRUCTURES)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operation of CNC VTL lathes in a state-of-the-art machine shop, manufacturing space rated aerospace components
- Real time editing of CNC machining software and codes to meet production requirements
- Ensure CNC machines are operating at precise tolerances
- Select proper tooling to perform required manufacturing operations
- Machine precision fixtures, tools and product from drawings, in accordance with established procedures, with little or no supervision
- Keeps machine and work area organized and clean
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience deburring, grinding, or machining metal items OR a degree/certificate from a trade school/work program
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of CNC VTL machining, set up and operations experience
- Ability to read accurately and write clearly, perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately
- Experience in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading and measurement of parts
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team-oriented environment, balancing team and individual responsibilities
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Physical requirements: repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: CNC Machinist/Level 1: $20.00 - $27.00/hour CNC Machinist/Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hour CNC Machinist/Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
