The role

The Youfoodz Commercial Analyst is responsible for the delivery of a relevant offer for our customers by leveraging our data and creation of insights to inform and influence category strategy, pricing and ranging decisions. Identify category opportunities through structured analysis and problem solving across different areas; including customer behaviour, market trends, category performance, pricing, ranging, forecasting and supply dynamics.

Please note that we are open to having this person based in either our YF Head Office in Brisbane or HF Head Office in Sydney! 

You will:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.
  • Deliver verbal and written communication to stakeholders at all levels with the ability to influence and present at a senior level
  • Analyse data sources and identify key metrics for reporting.
  • Design and develop data models that align with business requirements.
  • Optimise data models for performance and scalability.
  • Create visually compelling and interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Implement custom calculations and measures to derive meaningful insights.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Tableau, excel or google sheets.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different datasets.
  • Participate in project working groups for development and implementation of business
  • intelligence systems, processes, and reports to ensure quality, timely and accurate reporting of organisational performance.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau functionalities.
  • Monitor the performance of Tableau reports and dashboards.
  • Identify and implement optimisations for improved efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of data models, report designs, and development processes.
  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members

 

You have...
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role working within Retail Sector/Category analyst experience
  • Tertiary Qualifications in IT
  • Project or Transformation experience preferred
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance or related subject or equal professional experience
  • Strong visualisation, verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrated technical competence and experience with business intelligence solutions, developing meaningful data visualisations, using Power BI or similar product
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience and ability to ensure clarity of requirements and satisfaction with solution design
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Technical Skills:
  • SAS – Advanced (macros, arrays, hash tables, logistic & linear regression, A/B Testing)
  • SQL – Intermediate (data extraction & manipulation, procedures)
  • Python – Basic (pandas, beautiful soup)
  • MS Excel, Power Point – Intermediate (Pivot Tables, formulae)
  • Data Visualization – Advanced (ClicData, Tableau)
  • Data Architecture – Basic (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory)
  • Azure Cloud Services – Intermediate (Azure SQL db, Blob Storage, VMs, Azure Cognitive Search)
  • Google Cloud Services – Basic (BigQuery, Google Vision, Google Translate)
  • Product Management – Intermediate (Agile, Product Strategy, A/B Testing)
  • IRI/Circana, Summitt, Nielsen and or Quantium data base experience

 

You are…
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
  • Proven team player and strong ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experienced in business analysis and product design, capturing and interpreting business requirements/ processes, designing and implementing business solutions, with an appreciation of user interface considerations

Duration: Permanent full time role. You must have the right to work full-time in Australia/New Zealand.
