You’ll be working as part of the Commercial Contract Management Team (CCM) where our focus is delivering service and value for money from our 3rd party relationships, putting our customer at the heart. We manage end to end contractual relationships for Asset and MAP/Funding services.  The team operates across all OVO Energy brands. 

This role in a nutshell:

Working with the Energy Solutions team, you will develop, negotiate and manage contract implementation, support contract variations (including contract drafting where appropriate), disputes to mutual agreement, claims for damages, as well as contract renewals and/or exit. Depending upon business needs, you may also manage procurement exercise activity. 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Managing all aspects of contract management as the primary point of contact for external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Support the Energy Solutions team in all post contract matters
  • Work with the Legal and Procurement Teams to ensure the best approach is taken for contracting approach and in sourcing goods, works or services, including putting in place contingency arrangements to secure supply if necessary
  • Managing performance against contractual SLAs, agreeing and implementing process improvement plans where necessary and negotiating compensation for missed SLAs   
  • Ensuring robust processes are in place and followed, to allow optimal performance of your supplier.  You will also be required to identify and drive internal process improvement activity
  • Maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholder and maintaining high levels of satisfaction in the services provided to them
  • Manage and own the Internal approval process for contract execution, working with central Legal and Procurement teams to gain sign-off

  • Have  excellent contract interpretation and drafting skills
  • Are an effective negotiator and influencer 
  • Can accurately identify key issues 
  • Can interpret complex contracts, summarize and challenge key performance data 
  • Have a proven track record of all aspects of contract management, including negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Are comfortable working with legal, procurement and operational teams 
  • Confidence in navigating contracts and in drafting contract schedules, variations and formal contractual documents.
  • Experience of running an SRM process and chairing supplier / multi-party meetings 
  • Experience in supporting strategic projects/contracts.  Working knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract.  
  • Have knowledge of relevant statutory and legal provisions.
  • Degree educated or equivalent direct entry to recognised appropriate professional body preferred
  • Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts
  • Are enthusiastic with a flexible approach and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities
