THE ROLE
Step into a high-impact Commodity Management role to drive global sourcing and supply strategies for critical operational components. You will either independently lead or significantly contribute to strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cross-functional alignment. Your work directly enables our competitive advantage, supporting cost optimization, supply continuity, and quality improvements. This mission requires strong analytical rigor and deep partnership with R&D, Engineering, and Finance to align supply chain strategy with cutting-edge product development.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Define and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned commodities, utilizing deep market analysis and cost structure insights to secure competitive advantage and meet quality targets.
- Drive measurable cost reduction and risk mitigation by leading complex supplier negotiations, analyzing commodity cost drivers, and establishing robust contingency plans against supply disruptions.
- Manage and develop strategic global supplier relationships, overseeing contract compliance, performance metrics, and actively driving initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Act as the key supply chain partner for Operations, R&D, and Product Management, providing critical input for material and supplier selection during New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- Optimize supply chain operations by leveraging ERP systems and procurement platforms to accurately forecast inventory, manage contracts, and track essential supplier performance (KPIs).
WHAT YOU BRING
- Deep knowledge of global supply chains, commodity markets, and strategic sourcing methodologies, particularly within technology or complex operational component environments.
- Proven negotiation and supplier management expertise with a track record of driving significant cost savings and continuous improvements in supplier quality and delivery.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen to expertly assess commodity cost structures, evaluate supply risk, and make data-driven procurement decisions.
- Ability to collaborate, influence, and build consensus across diverse internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Finance, R&D) to shape and execute long-term supply strategies.
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and modern procurement tools for accurate forecasting, contract management, and performance tracking.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
