Your mission

As the Configuration Manager (all genders) you will be responsible for the data configuration activities of Rivada Space Networks, covering all aspects of the project lifecycle and operational system. You will report directly to the Head of Configuration and Information Management. 

 

The main objective is to identify and document the functional and physical characteristics of all system components, to control changes to those characteristics, to record and report change processing and implementation and to verify compliance with contractual and legal requirements. It must also enable all parties involved in the program, at any given time in the life cycle, to use identical data in the same controlled status. 

 

The scope of the role is defined in the Configuration, Documentation and Information Management Plan (CDIMP) which describes activities dealing with the maintenance of a coherent set of system data, including clear configuration status and change management.  The development of a configuration system is applied to the data for two satellite constellations with a total of 600 satellites, the ground segment, the user segment and related sub-systems. 

 

The CDIMP states the procedures for identifying, controlling, and recording the status of all items placed under configuration control. A key element of the role is to support the selection, implementation and management of Configuration Management software and associated processes.

This includes: 
  • Supporting internal teams by generating change requests and processing approvals through the Configuration Control Board
  • Ensuring control and traceability of the project baseline documentation
  • Maintaining the system level data consistency, identification of possible problems and non-conformances and identification of mitigation actions
  • Provide training in CM processes and software tools as required
  • Supporting the Head of Configuration and Information Management and the Document Manager, as well as working closely with internal technical groups
  • Participating in internal management meetings as required

What you bring on the table

  • Strong knowledge of managing Configuration/Change processes and software, maybe as part of a PLM/PDM tool 
  • Knowledge of Industry standards in Configuration Management, ERP and CRM software is beneficial (in terms of managing company resources and services, customers and financials in an operational environment)
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5+ years in Configuration or Engineering Change Management
  • Establishing plans, defining priorities, and carrying them out efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work flexibly in an environment with shifting priorities, timescales and processes
  • Understanding the importance of working with customer requirements and subcontractor processes
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communications and inter-personal skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluency in English
