Content Designer | CNET
We are seeking a Content Designer to join our team. You will work cross-functionally with Edit, Design, SEO and other partners to design highly-collaborative, creative, data-informed user experiences that also drive innovation and performance for our business.
This CNET Content Designer is a strong writer, critical thinker, and collaborative and organized individual who can work seamlessly with others across a variety of projects with overlapping deadlines.
What You’ll Do
- Conceptualize new creative strategies and write content that will improve user experience and drive performance across digital assets.
- Use your knowledge of product design and UX to inform content based on project requirements and goals.
- Create and execute a workflow to meet and manage tight deadlines.
- Develop subject-matter expertise, understand user problems, business goals, how competitors solve them, and where gaps exist.
- Partner with product managers, editors, researchers, product and visual design to oversee the experience from concept to launch.
- Effectively balance user needs and business goals.
- Use data, user research and performance metrics to optimize existing site experiences.
- Iterate and innovate based on data and findings.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and propose solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years writing for consumer-focused site or product, across various platforms (web, mobile, apps, etc) – and you know how to write for an end user.
- You have a killer portfolio that demonstrates excellent, error-free writing skills.
- You have the knowledge and ability to directly implement your content into design projects built in Figma (or like co-collaborating programs).
- You’re a strong communicator and collaborator who is inspired to deliver great work.
- You are always looking to grow your abilities through feedback and collaboration.
- You are proactive with strong time-management skills, taking initiative for what needs to be done rather than waiting for instructions.
- You enjoy staying flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment.
- You deftly juggle multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaboratively across teams.
- A passion for UX and digital content principles.
Even Better:
- Have some level of experience working for a consumer-facing website or digital product/brand.
- Have branding and marketing experience.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Experience with usability testing platforms like usertesting.com.
- Experience with project management software such as Asana.
Compensation
- Cash Compensation Range: $55,000 - $96,000* *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
