Content Designer Manager
Every day, millions of people rely on Lyft to get them to work, to meet up with friends, to get home after a night out. We serve and connect the Lyft community and we want Lyft to be the safest way to get around. That’s where you come in.
About the role
We’re looking for a Content Design Manager to lead a team of five content designers across our Driver, Customer Care, Pay, and Mapping products, setting and upholding the standard for what great looks like. You'll support the growth of your team, help prioritize and unblock work, and drive process improvements to increase excellence and efficiency. Of course, you won't be alone. You'll work with Product, Design+, and Marketing leadership to set high-level strategies and lead cross-functionally, as well as a group of Content Design leaders to advocate for and grow the discipline.
Responsibilities

- Responsible for the performance and growth of your team, and for helping create space for them to focus and do great work
- Drive collaboration and consensus across multiple teams and functions while relentlessly advocating for our users
- Model how to uphold and push the quality bar, coaching others across disciplines to rise to this level
- Balance tough trade-offs and compromises to always deliver the highest value for customers while maintaining a sustainable pace and workload for your team.
- Identify areas of opportunity for the organization and individuals alike, and develop holistic solutions that set everyone up for success
- Evolve the Content Design discipline within Lyft, which often looks like coaching junior members of the team, building systems for stronger cross-functional alignment, and developing internal team processes around craft and quality
- Contribute your leadership to overall Content Design and Design+ team initiatives
Your skills may include:
- 2+ years of Content Design management experience, including a proven ability to maintain stability in an ever-changing environment
- 5+ years of Content Design practitioner (or related) experience, including best-in-class understanding of UX principles, microcopy, and content design principles
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and an ability to pivot gracefully
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills; equally comfortable sharing your perspective in a cross-functional stand-up as a boardroom
- Strong ability to approach work with curiosity, humor, and humility
All that said, even if you don't have all of the skills above, consider applying. Talent takes many different shapes.
